Nordic Ski Trail Groomer Operator: 23-24 Winter Season
An hour north of Salt Lake City, Powder Mountain is a year-round destination for an ongoing program of events and activities - a home to the emergent culture of creativity and collaboration. Powder Mountain is the largest ski-able resort in North America and is preserving its magical skiing experience for generations to come and to save it from over development. We are not just another job, we are a community. The role of Nordic Ski Trail Groomer Operator is to provide safe and efficient grooming of all Powder Mountain Nordic & cross-country ski trails. Operator will possess sufficient ability and experience to safely groom independently or with a team. Experience with grooming Nordic stride and skate terrain preferred. Performance Expectations:
Prefer that the applicant has experience with various snow and weather conditions and can operate a variety of snowcats Understand and perform all safety aspects of equipment operation Understand and perform all pre-shift equipment checks on any Powder Mountain equipment Understand and perform all post-shift equipment checks on any Powder Mountain equipment Read and understand all Powder Mountain Grooming manuals Acquire knowledge of the mountain (Names and locations of trails, Traverses, Lifts and other facilities) Be aware of fixed obstacles (Trees, Buildings, Rope lines, Trail signs and Maps) Prefer applicants with advanced skiing or snowboarding ability Ability to work safely and efficiently Must have great communication skills Ability to communicate and work well with the Terrain Park Manager and The Slopes Manager Must demonstrate great attention to detail Willing to help other departments as the need arises Requirements Job Requirements:
Preferred 1 to 3 years' experience in snowcat operations. Preferred heavy and grooming equipment experience (front end loaders, snow cats and related equipment). Basic understanding of all Pre and Post shift equipment checks If necessary, work hours other than scheduled pertaining to weather conditions. Must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays Overall understanding of Powder Mountains policies and procedures Good work ethic, polite to co-works and follows directions when being asked to undergo a task Must be dependable and have excellent communication skills Reliable transportation, preferably 4x4 vehicle Uniform Requirement:

Must be able to perform physical activities such as, but not limited to:
Full range of body movements Reach, push, pull, lift, and carry objects that may be heavy (40+lbs) Prolonged periods of sitting, bending, and twisting Vision requirements - close, distance, peripheral, and depth perception Walk on even/uneven/slippery terrain Climb/descend stairs Manual dexterity to operate vehicles safely on a constant basis Powder Mountain Team Member Perks:

Work is performed inside and outside the snowcat consisting of extreme temperatures, loud sounds/noises that are distracting, sun and wind exposure, inclement weather (rain, snow, ice), high altitudes (9,000 ft+).
